Choosing the right RAL colour for garden furniture

Anthracite is not the only answer: how to find a colour that suits house and garden — and keeps pleasing you.
With powder coating the choice of colours is practically unlimited — which is exactly what makes it hard. A few principles help.
Take your cue from what is already there: window frames, the front door or the fence often set the direction. A piece in the same shade looks all of one piece; a deliberate contrast (a ruby-red sofa against a grey façade) makes a statement.
Light colours show dirt later than dark ones show dust — but dark shades like anthracite grey (RAL 7016) remain elegant and calm. On sunny terraces very dark surfaces heat up noticeably; muted mid-tones like pigeon blue or reseda green are a good compromise.
Think in years, not seasons: a trend colour can come in through cushions and accessories — the furniture itself can stay timeless. Our five standard shades are chosen with this in mind; any other RAL colour is available on request.
Tip: when in doubt, order a powder-coated colour sample or compare a RAL fan deck right where the furniture will stand — colours look different in outdoor daylight.
